Don Hertzfeldt’s WORLD OF TOMORROW Blu-ray collection released
Indie animation legend Don Hertzfeldt has this month released WORLD OF TOMORROW: THE FIRST THREE EPISODES on home media. Marking the director’s second blu-ray collection following on from 2016’s It’s Such A Beautiful Day/shorts package, the release focuses on the trifecta of half-hour films that have kicked off his ongoing WORLD OF TOMORROW series as well as an array of bonus material. Embraced by audiences and critics alike and described asĀ “what might be the crowning achievement of modern science fiction” (The Film Stage), Hertzfeldt’s latest series of films follows such similarly acclaimed work as his independent feature It’s Such A Beautiful Day, the graphic novel The End of the World and a successful shorts filmography including the Academy Award-nominated Rejected.
Don Hertzfeldt’s beloved, mind-bending animated series makes its official debut on Blu-ray, with the Academy Award nominated WORLD OF TOMORROW, WORLD OF TOMORROW EPISODE TWO: THE BURDEN OF OTHER PEOPLE’S THOUGHTS, and WORLD OF TOMORROW EPISODE THREE: THE ABSENT DESTINATIONS OF DAVID PRIME. Also included is the animated short film INTRO, a 32-page booklet, a deleted scene, and a new animated special feature called ON MEMORY.
Fans of Hertzfeldt and “anyone who enjoys slowly fitting small objects against other small objects” can also treat themselves to a limited edition, 19″x12″ 1000-piece WORLD OF TOMORROW jigsaw puzzle as well as a deluxe sticker set, both also available from bitterfilms.com while supplies last.
