Tulipop grows into new markets with sales across Italy and France
RAI in Italy has acquired all 52 episodes of Tulipop Tales from The Animation Band for its linear kids channel Rai Yoyo, as well as its online platform Rai Play, and is the series set to launch in Italy before the end of the year. TF1 in France has acquired all 52 episodes of Tulipop Tales for its popular TFou Max streaming service while in Norway, NRK has committed to a further 26 episodes bringing the total to 52.
These new partners join Síminn in Iceland, YLE in Finland, MBC in the Middle-East, Canal+ in Poland, Tele-Québec in Canada and Showmax South Africa in airing the series which is aimed at upper preschool audiences. RÚV in Iceland, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark and Svenska YLE in Finland have also commissioned the production of three TV specials announced earlier this year, Tulipop Seasons, which are written by Emmy winner, Robert Vargas, alongside Deanna Oliver, Sherri Stoner, and Sean Carson.
Tulipop’s consumer products division has also completed a new strategic deal with MBC Licensing in the Middle East, where Tulipop Tales launched on MBC 3 in August this year. Tulipop Studios has also signed a global music publishing deal with Peer Music, with the first two albums of Tulipop Tunes now available on all major music platforms, highlighting the original music that plays a key role in each episode alongside the instantly recognisable characters and their home Tulipop Island.
Tulipop’s goal is to teach kids important life lessons, the value of friendship, and the power of confidence through engaging and entertaining adventures set in fantastic Nordic landscapes. The Tulipop Tales series was written by a strong team of Icelandic and international writers, and head writers Sara Daddy (Claude, Puffin Rock), and Emma Boucher (Messy goes to Okido, Go Jetters). The series was developed in partnership with Dr. Natascha Crandall, Educational Consultant, who has a vast experience in children’s media and a special interest in enhancing children’s growth and development through the power of media.
Helga Árnadóttir, CEO & Producer, Tulipop Studios, said:
It’s fantastic to have RAI and TF1 in our slate of broadcast partners with NRK acquiring even more Tulipop content following a strong audience response to the show. Our goal has been to take a curated territory by territory approach to television sales and build an international licensing programme for the brand so it’s great to see MBC Licensing come on board to handle consumer products in their territory. We are looking forward to continuing to bring Tulipop’s modern day fairytales filled with catchy music and diverse characters to even more kids across the globe.
Tulipop Tales is produced by Tulipop Studios in Iceland in partnership with The Animation Band in Italy. The producer is Tulipop’s Helga Árnadóttir, Art Director is Signý Kolbeinsdóttir, and the Director is Sigvaldi J. Kárason.
