Sylvain Chomet directs latest ‘Simpsons’ couch gag

French director Sylvain Chomet, known for the elaborately animated features The Triplets of Belleville and The Illusionist is the latest director for The Simpsons‘ growing series of guest couch gags.
Other animators to lend their style to the iconic opening sequence include Bill Plympton and John Kricfalusi, with artist Banksy and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro also throwing their respective hats into the ring.
The show itself briefly parodied Chomet’s The Triplets of Belleville in the 22nd season episode Angry Dad: The Movie.
