Trunk Take Part In Mammoth Animation Live Stream Challenge For Storychangers
The European elections are coming up (May 22nd) and getting young people to vote is a challenge for all nations. To help combat this advertising agency Ogilvy Brussels and the European Parliament have commissioned a rather interesting project, gathering animators from the UK, Belgium and The Netherlands to create an interactive experience like no other. As part of the Story Changers challenge the public are encouraged to come up with alternate endings for the animated commercial which sees a cats day take a trippy twist as he samples the thoughts of an unfortunate skateboarder. You can see the film online as well as taking a peep at the animators working on a live stream. It is quite the challenge with the studios creating many animations per day.
The studios involved in the project are Trunk from London alongside Frame Order in Utrecht and Volstok in Ghent. Representing the UK Trunks Alasdair + Jock, Rok Predin and Layla Atkinson and company will have to create 40 unique animated endings across the 4 day project which are suggested by the public on twitter. this equates to one film per hour every day being created from sketchbook to the screen.
