Stardance Animation Festival 2023 Hold First In-Person Screening Event in London
Stardance Animation Festival has announced its first in-person screening event from 3rd to 5th and 10th to 12th March 2023, with 9 screenings at 2 cinemas across London, including Genesis Cinema and Picturehouse (Stratford).
The screening lineup is carefully curated to reflect the diverse culture of Europe and Asia as well as the charm of different style of animation films. From the ground-breaking cyberpunk classic Akira to the Irish Folklore inspired Wolfwalkers, there is something on offer for animation lovers of all age groups.
Other films include British stop motion puppet studio Mackinnon and Saunders’ Fantastic Mr Fox, world renowned Ghibli Studio’s first international co-production The Red Turtle, the French-Iranian adult animated biographical drama Persepolis, and much more.
Started online in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Stardance has screened high-quality animation films of different styles, including Oscar-nominated Best Animation Feature Song of the Sea by Cartoon Saloon and the Golden-Bear nominated Best Film Have a Nice Day.
This year marks the first in-person edition of Stardance, which enables animation fans, families and professionals to come together and celebrate the diversity of animation as well as Asian and European culture, which is at the core of Stardance’s philosophy.
Tickets are now available and can be purchased at Genesis Cinema and Stratford East Picturehouse.
