Skybound Animation, a division of Skybound Entertainment and studio behind Invincible, the adult animated show on Prime Video that is100% “Certified Fresh” by Rotten Tomatoes, today announced the hire of Alex Teslik as its new Vice President of Production Technology and Post. With the addition of Teslik, Skybound will be able to scale Skybound’s growing slate of animation series. This is Skybound’s eighth strategic executive hire of the year and Teslik will be directly supporting the production of one of its biggest IPs, Invincible, as well as paving the way to scale new animation projects.

With more than 20 years of animation production experience at the intersection of art, technology, and finance, Teslik has a depth of expertise in managing high volume animation production. He previously served as Executive Director Digital Production where he supervised all digital deliveries from partner studios worldwide for all in-house DTVA productions, managed a large staff of 2D and 3D technical artists, and was responsible for the mastering and delivery of 150 half hours of content per year. In addition to playing a key role in developing the first 4K HDR production and post-production workflows for children’s television for Monsters At Work seasons 1 and 2, he was also a contributor to the global mastering specifications for Disney+. Prior to Executive Director he served as the Supervising Technical Director for all animated series at DTVA including franchise hits such as Mickey Mouse ClubhousePhineas and Ferb, Kim Possible, Lilo and Stitch, and Gravity Falls. He is also the co-founder at Eileen Darby Images, Inc.

“Alex is a key talent to add to our 200+ person animation studio. He has a genuine love for technology and solving problems and understands the technical and artistic aspects of animation production,” said Marge Dean, Head of Skybound Animation. “I’m looking forward to growing our animation team and series with him!” Outside of Invincible, additional animation projects include bringing back iconic animated film festival Spike & Mike’s, where the likes of Pete Doctor (CCO, Pixar; Monsters, Inc.Up), Mike Judge (Beavis & Butt-Head), and Nick Park (Wallace and Gromit) got their start, and an untitled unscripted competition series highlighting what it takes to become a top talent in animation today – with more announcements coming soon.

Previously announced hires across the company include: Gregg Sulak, CFO (formerly Wondery CFO); Chris Paulson, EVP and GM, Games Publishing (formerly VP of Product at Activision Blizzard); Jeff Chaiken, Head of Corporate Development (having held the same title at Electronic Arts); and Lizzie Alberga, Head of People and Performance (former Founder & CEO, Collective Gain). Additionally, Ben Abernathy is the company’s new Executive Editor, Editorial (coming from the same position at DC Comics); Brent Jacoby is EVP, Unscripted TV (formerly EVP of Development at Catalina Content); and Chris Goble is SVP Scripted TV (previously VP of Television MGM TV). Hiring Teslik indicates the company has a robust strategy in place to strengthen its dynamic executive team and capture increased market share from incumbent entertainment and animation studios.
