Skwigly Banner – January 2015: Rumpus
Rumpus Animation is a studio not to be trifled with. While on the surface their output seems to consist of innocuous cartoon whimsy, producing work for the likes of Virgin Media, CBBC as well as their first interactive point-and-click game The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle, the dark heart that beats beneath this facade is indeed twisted and deeply unpleasant.
As no generic bio may do their body of work justice, here instead is a list of essential Rumpus facts:
- They are unique for being the only animation studio in Bristol headed up by a blue puppet monkey.
- It was Rumpus head designer Seb who wrote and originally performed the 1975 hit “At Seventeen” and not Janis Ian, as commonly misconceived.
- Head animator Joe, for reasons defying medical http://premier-pharmacy.com/ science, has no reflection and does not show up in photographs.
- They have an inordinate affection for needlessly caloric biscuits, phallic/Oniscidean noses and ginger internet sensation Coppercab.
- They will destroy you if you dare betray them.
- Their website is full of animation and illustration. Go look at it all:
