Josh O’Brien is a London-based illustrator and character designer, working within animation, editorial and advertising as well as children’s books. He was born in the suburbs of Oxford in the mid 80s where black university robes and ancient architecture were the order of the day. Then at the age of 11 he moved with his family to the back end of nowhere amongst the wonderfully overgrown laneways of the Irish countryside. Add to this concoction a young boy’s propensity for mischief, a love of the fantastical and many, many hours of Jedi training with a stick for a light sabre and there you’ll find Josh, in a nutshell.
He now lives in London, UK with his girlfriend and their three housemates, playing Trivial Pursuit and drinking tea. He hopes, one day, to get a dog.
