What influenced it?

Various writings and ideas are referenced in (or inspired) the video, we thank them all for existing and doing the work they do. We especially want to thank the BÉZNĂ Theatre play Vinovat/ă which catalyzed the ideas for the video and Oana Cristina Puscatu voice for giving it life-force.

We have been troubled by the concept of the Anthropocene for over two years, exploring it in another past video essay. In this production, a burst of emotion came through this kind of rambling in imagining a future that is dire, but perhaps might not be, if only …

How was the film made?

I wrote the script in one sitting, in three versions, under a spell of inspiration – I think we chose version three. Theo & Mina worked together on animation and illustration. We were incredibly inspired by Oana’s voiceover. Mina imagined a character that is somehow alienated from her surroundings and at the same time nostalgic towards them. Theo put all things in motion, animating feelings and emotions that go with receiving a voicemail. BAB tied them together through music. We work together as a team, and thus most often inspire each other.
