Princess Tiny
What is the film about?
A princess leaves her royal life to help and live with the people of her kingdom
What influenced it?
I was influenced a lot from Studio Ghibli, Cartoon Saloon and Wes Anderson films. I love the slow, quiet moments in Ghibli films which I tried to incorporate in Princess Tiny. Cartoon Saloon films were inspiring to me through the compositions and perspectives they use in their films which helps and enrich 2D animation. I love central compositions and a storybook feel to my work and tried to incorporate that into Princess Tiny.
A little background information...
This film is also about honouring those who leave their homelands to seek a better life, whether it may be for themselves or their families. It takes a lot of courage and sacrifice to leave the comfort of your home. We are all Princess Tiny at some point of our lives, and I hope this film can inspire us to reach within and empathise with kindness for all the other Princess Tiny’s around us.
How was the film made?
The backgrounds and textures were made in Photoshop. The animation was made in TV Paint and everything was comped in After Effects.
