A Life in Print
What is the film about?
A Life in Print follows the life story of Ray, who has grown up and interacted with local newspapers during each key moment of his life.
A little background information...
A+C Studios was approached by the Tindle Newspaper Group to create a 30 second TV commercial, and 90 second online commercial promoting the benefit of local weekly newspapers, and their place in the heart of community.
How was the film made?
Using the process of stop-motion animation. Every set, character and prop was covered in a layer of paper to compliment the subject matter of the commercial (local weekly newspapers). Production lasted about 5 months, shooting with 46 puppets across 5 sets. Shot entirely by one animator on twos at 12.5 frames-per-second, the longest shot took 5 days and an average frame time of around 15 minutes.
