What is the film about?

A short film about people who were important at one time but have become ghost-like figures who live in the past and memories.

A little background information...

I met Jo Schornikow at this tiny music festival called Away Game on the island of Eigg on the west coast of Scotland in 2012.
I previously had done another video for her, using archive footage, and when she was going to release another album in 2019 she got back in touch if I was interested in creating an animated music video for one of her singles.

How was the film made?

I created the video over a period of seven months at home in my kitchen whenever my daughter was at nursery or asleep.
Fairly early on I decided to go for this translucent/transparent cut out look which fitted the song. I created all the individual paper characters, models and props at home (or on holiday), and shot them separately using Dragonframe. Afterwards, I assembled everything in afterfx and edited using premiere.
