Climate Emergency – Animated Exquisite Corpse
What is the film about?
An Exquisite Corpse in seven parts from animators around the world. Each was given the last five seconds of the previous animator and two months to create their own animation.
Blended in one color palette, the idea was to make a visual dialogue on the theme of climate emergency; a way to both be creative and exchange on this important subject of our time.
How was the film made?
The idea of the project started after the artist Dinos & Teacups reached out to me when she saw my last film M52. She liked the idea of an improvised film and thought it could be nice to do a collaborative project as an animated exquisite corpse with other animators friends. As with a classic exquisite corpse, no one knew what the other made and everyone only saw the final result when the last part unfolded. The whole project lasted 2 years with the sounds & music wonderfully composed at the end by John Poon.
Animation was made in order of appearance by: Dinso & Teacups, Carlos Alegria, Ala Nunu, Martynas Auž, Hend & Lamiaa, Ilona Poliszczuk and Yves Paradis.
