A little background information...

Brother Sun Sister Moon, a dream-pop band from Osaka, Japan contacted me to make a music video for a track from their new album Holden. The tone of the song, to me, sounded cute and fun, while the lyrics hinted at someone being let down by someone they’re chasing. From this I decided to make the video about a surprise birthday party where one dumb guest who turns up too late.

How was the film made?

The music video was made with 2D frame by frame digital animation, directed and animated by myself.
