Sam Gainsborough creates animated ‘William Blake at Tate Britain’ trailer
In support of the William Blake exhibition at Tate Britain, NFTS-graduate Sam Gainsborough has directed a special trailer which animates the painter’s work against locations that he lived in or frequented while he was alive.
Sam creates a natural flow throughout the film with a series of vignettes which move across buildings and locations, culminating in the characters meeting at the Tate Britain. In each shot the artwork gradually becomes more vibrant and all-encompassing, drawing us into William Blake’s world.
Sam worked with Seymour Milton who composed the atmospheric music to complement the voiceover narration of William Blake’s “Auguries of Innocence.”
The trailer has been released on the Tate’s social media channels and YouTube today.
