“Watch with caution” – new music video from Robert Morgan

// News

On the heels of the reveal of his upcoming feature film Stopmotion‘s poster and trailer, award-winning director and stop-motion artist Robert Morgan has today launched a new music video.

Incidental 38: Strange Action At A Distance is the latest in a series of visual interpretations by animators of music by experimental artist Ray Incident, from his third album Incidence. Robert’s film follows visual interpretations of other tracks by Tina Maslakova and Lulu Wang (Incidental 40: Incidence Finale), Jacob Varley (Incidental 34: A Walk in the City) and Trina Merry (Incidental 35: Scenes De Ballet), with upcoming filmmakers to include Mikkel Mainz (Skjald Creative), MRE (MYSTERY) and Ellie Pritts as well as a competition winner from the Royal Academy of Art.

When I heard Ray Incident’s track, it felt very fragmented and chaotic, but there were swirling patterns within it which felt hypnotic. Images of kaleidoscopes came into my mind, along with some kind of malevolent hypnosis ritual…
I shot the film in sequence, and edited as i went along, letting the music lead me rather than any kind of logic. The film offers an occult stop-motion ritual of murky origin and questionable aims. Please watch with caution.
