Michael Frei’s “Plug & Play” film & app released online
Following multiple award wins and a massive festival run of over a hundred screenings including Annecy, Ottawa, Clermont-Ferrand, Stuttgart, KLIK and Encounters, Michael Frei‘s Plug & Play, “a surreal play with plugs” has now been released online.
Alongside the release of the film itself, Frei has developed an interactive game version with Zurich-based Etter Studio, in which players can “explore the feelings of anthropoid creatures that go beyond sexuality and reproduction: love”
Coded by Mario von Rickenback, the interactive version makes full use of Frei’s visual style to create a satisfyingly tactile experience in which the behaviours and actions of the film’s curious ensemble can be manipulated and prompted by the viewer.
The game is available from iTunes at $2.99, for more information you can visit the film’s official site at plugplay.ch
