Plankton: The Movie | Official trailer and key art released

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Plankton: The Movie. The latest feature film spinoff of the enormously popular SpongeBob SquarePants series created by Stephen Hillenburg, this entry is the first to focus on series antagonist Plankton, whose “world is flipped upside down when his plan for world domination is thwarted”.

SpongeBob SquarePants’ tiniest frenemy, Sheldon J. Plankton, is finally getting his close up. When Plankton’s latest evil scheme is thwarted, Bikini Bottom and the surface world become threatened by an unexpected danger. Now, before Plankton can take over the world, he’s going to have to save it.

Accompanying the release of the trailer is the unveiling of the film’s key poster art and stills (below).

Plankton: The Movie is written by Mr. Lawrence, Kaz and Chris Viscardi with Dave Needham directing. Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller exec produce, with music by Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper and original songs by Bret McKenzie, Linda Perry, Mark Mothersbaugh & Bob Mothersbaugh. The voice cast includes Mr. Lawrence, Jill Talley, Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, Clancy Brown and Rodger Bumpass.

Plankton: The Movie launches on Netflix March 7th
