Pixar launches its newest intergalactic adventure ‘Elio’!
The universe is calling for a new animated feature and Pixar has answered the call! The trailer for Pixar’s latest animated adventure feature Elio has been released, offering audiences a sneak peek into an interstellar adventure unlike any other. Directed by Adrian Molina, who previously co-directed and wrote the screenplay for Coco, Elio is set to be released exclusively in cinemas on 1st March 2024.
Elio introduces us to an 11-year-old underdog with an active imagination who is inadvertently beamed up to the “Communiverse” an interplanetary organisation with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and discover his true purpose.
The film has a great voice cast of Yonas Kibreab as Elio Solis, America Ferrera as Oliga Solis, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa and Brad Garrett as Ambassador Grigon.
The project was first announced at the 2022 D23 Expo Presentation where it was revealed Adrian Molina would be directing and Mary Alice Drumm who worked with Molina as an associate producer on Coco would be producing.
The trailer gives us a first look at the character designs, which look especially fun and was released alongside a new poster for the film.
