Parabella on new series pilot ‘Alan the Infinite’
Alan the Infinite is the pilot for a 12 part mini-series from Blinkink director duo Parabella, set in the office of a lamination company.
Alan’s story is a hand crafted, stop-motion animated fable about change and identity, aimed at 8-14 year olds, who at that age are often pressured into choosing a single path without carving their own identities.
The story follows a 14 year old boy on an internship who has discovered infinity by accidentally breaking a mysterious floating atom. Strange forces are unleashed into the office, but Alan must keep a lid on the absurd Pandora’s box if he wants to keep his summer job and figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
Speaking about the character design process, Dan Ojari, one half of the duo, said:
We decided to film the puppets without any faces on, instead tracking them on afterwards using a complex process of 3D scanning, tracking software and 2D animating the facial expressions. This gives the show and it’s cast of characters a uniquely wonderful look.
The project is currently in development as a series by Blink Industries and screening in film festivals. To learn more and go behind the scenes visit blinkink.co.uk
