‘Oh Willy…’ released online
Back in 2012 the talented duo of Emma De Swaef and Marc James Roels brought us the fuzzy, naked world of Oh Willy… the joyous tale of a man reconnecting to his roots, grief and friendship when you need it most. Bringing to life puppets in felt creating a stunning aesthetic that captured the imagination of everyone, from students to the most well known and knowledgeable stop-motion masters. Seen across the world, Oh Willy… eventually won over 80 international awards including the coveted 2012 Cartoon d’or. Now available and released for free online, the film can go on to charm even more people.
Back in 2013 we interviewed co-director Marc Roels about the film when it was clearly already an instant classic. The online release has been a long time coming but we’re sure Skwigly readers will agree that it’s more than worth the wait.
