The film will be Park’s return to feature directing and Aardman’s second film to be released under their partnership with Studio Canal, following Shaun the Sheep The Movie.
Early Man follows the adventures of Redmaynes character Dug, who along with his sidekick Hognob has to unite his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game, reportedly resulting in the first game of football. Details of the role that Williams will play in the film have been revealed by the studio. Williams will be voicing Goona, the gallant and indomitable rebel who befriends the film’s hero Dug (Eddie Redmayne), and helps steer him through the clash of the Stone Age and Bronze Age civilisations.
