Late Night Work Club – trailer for second anthology film ‘Strangers’ released
Late Night Work Club, the ‘rotating collective’ set up by Pittsburgh-based animator/illustrator Scott Benson in 2012, has this morning revealed the launch date of their second anthology film Strangers, following on from the 2013’s Ghost Stories, to be November 28th of this year. The announcement was accompanied by a brand new trailer that is sure to intrigue and entice:
As with the previous collection, a number of independent and professional visual artists have come together to direct a short film each, with a shared theme to be interpreted however they see fit. The first anthology Ghost Stories featured short film contributions from ten independent directors including Alex Grigg (Phantom Limb) and Sean Buckelew (The American Dream), both of whom have returned for this second anthology. Strangers will also feature new work for Kirsten Lepore, Jeanette Bonds, Loup Blaster, Caleb Wood and Nicolas Ménard (whose Strangers contribution Wednesday With Goddard saw its premiere at this year’s Encounters festival to a hugely positive response).
With the spirit, intent and execution of the original Ghost Stories cited amongst the independent animation community as one of the most inspirational ventures of its kind, anticipation for Strangers is certainly high. In the meantime the first anthology feature can be watched online in full:
