Laika Release Third Trailer for ‘The Boxtrolls’

A new The Boxtrolls trailer has been released, revealing yet more exciting characters, sceneries and animated sequences all lovingly crafted into the world of Cheesebridge. With the films 26th September release date slowly creeping closer, fans of the studio that brought us such animated spectacles as Coraline and ParaNorman are relishing each snippet of new footage that the clever marketing team at Laika let out in tantalising installments through Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo and their own production website.
The trailer also reveals more of the storyline, delving into the boxtrolls’ underground hideout. We see Eggs and his family’s hair-raising adventures into the upper world of Cheesebridge and their interactions with the townsfolk. The cave-dwelling trolls with hearts of gold are under seige from ‘The Exterminator’ and it’s up to Eggs to sort things out between his adopted family and the people of his birth place.
