‘Intimate Animation’ – a new Skwigly Podcast
Today Skwigly are launching the first of a brand new podcast series – Intimate Animation !
As Skwigly continues to grow and give due attention to all areas of animation we will be building upon our established Skwigly Animation Podcast through several additional miniseries over the coming months and years. In this first new venture join Skwigly Managing Director Ben and Features Writer Laura-Beth as they explore, discuss and interview the talents behind animations (old and new) that deal with themes of love, relationships and sexuality.
To kick things off we’re reaching into the Skwigly archives to bring you a previously-unheard full interview with the esteemed and much-admired Czech director Michaela Pavlátová, director of such films as Repete, the Oscar-nominated Reci, Reci, Reci (Words, Words, Words) and the Tram, a joyful animated depiction of a lonely tram driver’s inner thoughts and fantasies over the course of her workday. The film was originally commissioned by Sacrebleu Productions as part of the collaborative endeavour Sexperiences, though on its own it has gone on to massive festival success, winning an Annecy Cristal in 2012 among its many awards.
