GMUNK is a huge talent with a unique skill-set. His work incorporates both the very highest motion design, whilst also meaningfully exploring new technoogies. His appetite for innovation in film, both digital and in-camera, and his understanding of interactive means he is perfectly poised to creatively lead projects for both Nexus and Nexus Interactive Arts. We’re delighted he is joining us.
-Chris O’Reilly, ECD and co-founder, Nexus and Nexus Interactive Arts
Established as one of the world’s most prominent visual and design directors, GMUNK is known for a signature style blending sci-fi themes and psychedelic visuals using ingenious approaches to the use of light and materials with minimal use of visual effects. Amongst his noteworthy projects are the projection-mapping performance piece Box for San Francisco’s Bot & Dolly robotics studio, the holographic segments for recent Disney feature TRON: Legacy, the visual branding for Microsoft’s Windows 10 launch and a wide variety of commissions for clients including Beck, Vimeo, Samsung, Adidas and Vice.
What drew me to Nexus was not just their film and Interactive Arts department, but their reputation as industry leaders renowned for nurturing talent. I am keen to continue my enthusiasm for learning and love being exposed to new experiences and the latest technology. My ambition is to continue my development as a versatile creative leader in an ever-changing landscape. Collaboration is key in learning and who better to learn from and work with than the vast selection of artists housed at the Nexus studio?
