Frozen becomes the Highest Grossing Animation of All Time
Since the release of the Disney’s Frozen the world has gone ice queen mad. The story which is loosely based on the Hans Christian Anderson story ‘The Snow Queen’ has stolen the hearts and vocal chords of a whole generation.
It has been announced today that Frozen has become the highest grossing animation of all time. Considering the great amount of animations hitting our cinemas this is no mean feet. The movie has made close to £644 million in box office sales since its release in November but surprisingly its biggest sales were made in non English speaking countries with its worldwide sales of £404 million.
The previous owner of this title was Pixar’s Toy Story 3 which made £638 million. Toy Story 3 held the record of highest grossing animation for 4 years which isn’t a long time when you consider that The Lion King held the record since 1994.
It seems this Disney hit may hail the return of the classic Disney movie with memorable songs, beautiful design and great characters. Now lets just hope that many more hits will follow and most importantly maybe we can all find a way to get the soundtrack out of our heads!
