Last night the winners of the first round of prizes for Annecy 2014 were revealed, with wins for France, Great Britain, Denmark, Japan, Switzerland and Canada.


Through The Hawthorn (Anna Benner/Pia Bord/Gemma Burditt, Likely Story, UK) – Festival Connexions Award


Interview (Mikkel Okholm, Animation Workshop, Denmark) – Junior Jury Award for a Graduation Film


Bus Story (TALI, NFB, Canada) – Junior Jury Award for a Short Film


No Fish Where To Go (Nicola Lemay/Janice Nadeau, NFB, Canada) – Fipresci Award

Adama (Work in Progress) (Simon Rouby, Gao Shan Pictures/Pipangai Production, France) – Gan Foundation Aid for Distribution


Hasta Santiago (Mauro Carraro/Pierre Manchot, Nadasdy Film, France/Switzerland) – Sacem Award for Original Music in a Short Film


Wonder (Mirai Mizue, CaRTe blaNCHEe/CALF, Japan/France) – Canal+ Creative Aid Award for a Short Film

The final major award winners will be revealed tonight at the festival closing ceremony.
