It would appear that the director isn’t straying too far from his tried and tested one man and his dog formula, or by the looks of things, one man and his hog. What little we know of the film has been coaxed out of the company in recent weeks but we know that Shaun the Sheep: The Movie co-director Mark Burton who is joined by John O’Farrell in the writing duties. This is the first official look at the film which is been produced by the BFI as well as StudioCanal who produced Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep: The Movie.

A short synopsis has been released by Aardman.

“Set at the dawn of time, when dinosaurs and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of how one plucky caveman unites his tribe against a mighty enemy and saves the day!”

Nick Park said:

“I’m very excited to be making this film with such great partners – STUDIOCANAL and BFI.  And with the support of the incredible team at Aardman – bringing this inept bunch of cavemen to life is going to be a hilarious adventure! “

This will be Park’s first feature film since Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit which was released an incredible TEN YEARS ago. With stop motion taking the time it does to produce I wouldn’t hold your breath for too long for the release date details and casting which have yet to be announced but keep your eyes on Skwigly for further updates.
