‘Finding Dory’ – new character images and cast info released
As the release of Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory draws ever closer, prospective audiences have been given more of a look at the ensemble cast via a series of images originally released to USA Today. The film, a sequel to the 2003 Pixar mega-hit Finding Nemo, will feature many of the original cast of aquatic characters, including clownfish father/son duo Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Nemo (Hayden Rolence), as well as sea turtles Crush (voiced by director Andrew Stanton) and Squirt, a host of cameos and, naturally, Dory herself (Ellen DeGeneres).
Additional characters that have been revealed include Dory’s parents Charlie (Eugene Levy) and Jenny (Diane Keaton), octopus Hank (Ed O’Neill), a pair of ‘East London gangster sea lions’ (played by The Wire alum Dominic West and Idris Elba), Mr. Ray (a spotted eagle ray voiced by Bob Peterson), Bailey (Ty Burrell) a hearing-impaired beluga whale and Destiny, a visually-impaired whale shark (Kaitlin Olson of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) among an assortment of additional characters that include sea otters and loons.
Finding Dory will premiere at this year’s Annecy Festival and is due to be released in the US mid-June, with a UK release planned for late July.
