Fête du Cinéma d’Animation Back for 22nd Edition at London’s Ciné Lumière

The Institut français in London and its Ciné Lumière team up with the Association Française du Cinéma d’Animation and the Institut français in Paris to celebrate the 22nd Fête du Cinéma d’Animation.

Over 250 cultural venues and educational institutions in France and in the French Institute’s
worldwide network rally around this initiative.

14 – 29 October at Ciné Lumière

Londoners can experience a wide spectrum of animation genres at Ciné Lumière, from rarely seen in
the UK stop-motion No Dogs or Italian Allowed (26 Oct), to the visual and music delight Ernest &
Celestine: Trip to Gibberitia (14- 28 Oct) preceded by a pre-recorded introduction by directors JeanChristophe Roger & Julien Ccheng, the humouristic and nostalgic celebration to Sempé & Goscinny
and Cristal Award winner in Annecy Little Nicholas, As Happy As Can Be (20-24 Oct). The most
famous sisters in Disney history also return to the big screen for a dressed up screening of Frozen (15
Oct) to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The exclusive screening of shorts leadHERships (26 Oct)
focusing on girls’ courage will be followed by a Cine-Philo session where young audiences will think
about and discuss values such as inclusion, respect and solidarity

Other highlights include new release and vivid adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic children’s story
The Ghost of Canterville (25-29 Oct), the gorgeous animation Puffin Rock & the New Friends (23
Oct) or Juan Jesus Garcia Galocha feature film debut Mummies (22 Oct).
