MIFA celebrating women… and Brazil
Created in 2015, the Mifa Animation Industry Award aims to highlight the people who have contributed to the changes in the animation industry through their achievements, investments and reflections. For the first time, this year the award will be given to an organisation – Women in Animation (WIA). Additionally, the Women in Animation World Summit organised by Women in Animation and Les Femmes s’Animent will take place on Monday 11th June.
With the Festival itself celebrating the Brazilian animation industry, MIFA will see a significant Brazilian delegation of more than 40 companies present with a 45m² stand.
Richard Williams – the patron of MIFA Campus 2018
Following in the footsteps of Guillermo del Toro, it is the turn of Richard Williams to be the patron of the second Mifa Campus. This day of events on Tuesday 12th June has the aim of gathering together students, emerging professionals and experts in animation around the themes of training, the creative process and recruitment.
As the patron of the Mifa Campus, Richard Williams will give a “Conversation with” to the young talents in animation, which is a unique moment for this generation searching for references and experiences to be shared.

- Mifa Pitches: a presentation of the best animated film projects, all of which are unreleased and in the first phase of development. There are 5 categories: Feature films / Short films / TV series and specials / Interactive creations and transmedia / Animation du Monde
- Mifa Recruitment: meetings between candidates and recruiters for preparing future international productions. In particular with: Illumination Mac Guff / Normaal / Silex / TAT / Method / Framestore / Sony Pictures / Blue Sky / Laïka / Xilam and many more
