“Drink It All In” – Twinings and Parabella Studios team up for latest advert
Twinings – historic connoisseurs of tea and all things British – have once more turned their hand to the fine art of animation advertising. 2011 saw their hit Gets You Back To You campaign that touched the hearts of tea drinkers up and down the country with a blend of thoughtful story and sensitive style produced by the team at Psyop.
It’s their most recent launch Drink It All In, however, that’s really my cup of tea. Advertising their classic English Breakfast, the commercial mixes colour, vibrancy and the positive, life affirming spirit that the company signifies in the minds of thousands across the world. Part of an integrated £10million campaign led by AMV BBDO, this unique commercial brings together the perfect blend (that’s the last tea pun, I promise) of BAFTA winner Mikey Please (Marilyn Myller) and Dan Ojari (Slow Derek) who were instrumental in the production of this stop-motion/pixilated celebration of the humble cuppa.
With the upbeat melody of Sophia Loren’s ‘Bing, Bang, Bong’ and the cheeky wink of the leading lady Lydia Larson, this charming ad will hopefully become one of those classics your remember fondly for some time to come.
