Cosmos-Maya to co-produce ‘Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds’ feature film with Apolo Films
Cosmos-Maya, the leading India and Singapore-based animation studio, will team up with independent Spanish studio Apolo Films for its first foray into animated features. The partnership marks the launch of Cosmos-Maya’s new feature film division to co-produce a new full-length animated feature film version of the classic children’s series Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds.

Based on the Alexandre Dumas’ classic The Three Musketeers, the original 1981 series Dogtanian and The Three Muskehounds ran for 26 episodes and enjoyed success, with reruns airing in over 100 countries nearly four decades on.
Dogtanian is very close to our hearts and no stone will be left unturned to recreate this magical IP. With SVOD rights for key territories including the UK, France and Germany being handled by Universal, the project is being part-financed by Cosmos-Maya with assistance from ICO, Banco Santander, Sodena and Sonagar. TVE, Lusomundo and A Contracorriente in Spain have been announced as production partners. Cosmos-Maya will be in charge of the film’s production as co-producers as well as its exclusive distribution in Asian territories.
The screenplay of the film is being adapted from an original script by Claudio Biern Boyd of Apolo and will be penned by US screenwriter Doug Langdale, whose feature film credits include Kung Fu Panda, The Book of Life, The Weekenders, Scooby-Doo!, Top Cat, Guardians of Oz.
