Happy 2016 from Claude Cloutier!
Following on from fellow 2016 Oscar nomination shortlistee and NFB filmmaker Cordell Barker’s latest video, award-winning animator/illustrator Claude Cloutier has this week unveiled a special animation titled Happy New Year in the theme of his latest short film Carface.
Carface – itself a sharply-observed satire on Big Oil via the medium of animation – began a rich festival journey when it premiered at last year’s Annecy festival, also screening at the Ottawa Animation Festival, Manchester Animation Festival and winning the Prix Guy-L.-Coté (Best Canadian Animation Film) at the 2015 Sommets du cinéma d’animation last month.
Claude, whose prior films include the Jutra/Genie Award-winning Sleeping Betty, also recently released a series of seasonally-themed Carface GIFs alongside his recent Skwigly advent calendar contribution.
