Cardiff Animation Festival is back for a third edition in March 2022. Cardiff Animation Festival 2022 will celebrate animation for everyone with its first ever hybrid edition, combining in-person and online events.

The CAF team have kept animation events going online since lockdown. Following its online-only second edition in 2020, the festival will return to the big screen in Cardiff, as well as sharing online events with audiences worldwide.

We’re beyond excited to be back together in the cinema again, but we’re also really proud of what we built during lockdown, with our online events keeping audiences entertained and connected, and also improving access to animation for people who might not be so able to access our events in person. The 2022 edition will bring together the best of both worlds.

-Lauren Orme (Festival Director, CAF)

Cardiff Animation Festival 2022 will showcase some of the best animation from all over the world, with a broad range of animated short film programmes, feature films, masterclasses, workshops, filmmaker Q+As, retrospectives, behind the scenes screenings, industry events, panels and networking events. In-person events will be held at Chapter, the Welsh capital’s vibrant arts hub, from the 24th-27th March, with online events running in March and April.
