Applications open for BFI Film Academy Animation Camp 2020
Do you know anyone aged 16-19 with a passion for Animation?
Calling The Shots are running a professional development short course for young animators aged 16-19.
Part of BFI Film Academy, this stop-motion animation course is delivered in partnership with Aardman and UWE School of Animation. Participants will work in teams to devise, write and storyboard a short film. Working with industry practitioners, they will complete an animatic and make all the sets, armatures and models required to shoot and edit their short film.
This week-long course is open to all young people from anywhere in the UK.
The course costs £210, but fees should not be a barrier as there are generous bursaries available to cover fees and travel expenses.
We welcome applications from talented young filmmakers from all backgrounds. The fee ranges from £0 to £210 for the BFI Film Academy Animation Course, including accommodation and food, but generous financial assistance and a bursary scheme ensures that costs will not prevent any filmmaker from taking part – if you have the talent we will make sure you can attend.
We also have a separate fund that can help with travel, childcare or other costs.
The selected participants will be contacted after the closing date regarding fees and they can apply for a bursary at that stage.
