Beakus Re-animates Frankenstein
Beakus has been very busy over the past few months… re-animating Frankenstein, new work for Sky and CBeebies plus a feature on Time Out. Read on…
Penny Dreadful
Sky asked us to create three animated virals to promote the launch of their major new show Penny Dreadful starring Josh Hartnett, Eva Green and Billie Piper and created by John Logan. Up stepped director Gergely Wootsch, getting under the skin of the Victorian psychological thriller and designing a wonderfully dark trio of films about the show’s inspiration – the novels Frankenstein, Dracula and Dorian Gray.
CBeebies ‘Minibeast Adventure with Jess’
We created animated clips for a new CBeebies show produced by Kindle all about searching for bugs, insects and creepy-crawlies! With design by Jonathan Woodward and direction by me, we worked incredibly fast to deliver 20 clips each with a different pest minibeast.
CBeebies ‘Kameron’
We’ve just finished work on our 9th animated vox-pop story for CBeebies, this time featuring football fanatic Kameron.
Time Out
The wonderful team at Hibrow descended upon Beakus to film interviews with myself and Gergely Wootsch for a Time Out special on animation. It’s not often we’re asked to speak on-camera, so we brushed our hair and made the most of it. The resulting three films premiered on Time Out’s New York site, and subsequently found a home on their London site. In the films I talk through the “8 stages of animation production”, and “my five favourite animated films of all time”, whilst Gergely speaks about “how to make an animated music promo with Savages: Marshal Dear”.
