Beakus Has A New Look!
Just like the good doctor, we’ve re-generated in to a sleek new model that foregrounds the great work we’ve been doing this past year. Please do have a peek at www.beakus.com and let us know what you think!
There’s a brand new studio reel, plus reels for all our directors AND a separate space for our animation made just for kids, called Beakus Mini!
Interactives for IWM ‘Horrible Histories: Spies’
Whilst all that’s been going on we haven’t downed tools. In fact we’ve been making our first interactive projects, for the Imperial War Museum and the National Maritime Museum.
Working with the wonderful all-conquering ‘Horrible Histories’ brand, we created two in-gallery interactive quizzes for the IWM’s latest exhibition ‘Spies’. Programmed in Flash, the touch-screen tests include plenty of comic hand-animated skits. ‘Are You A Super Spy?’ can be played online at www.iwm.org.uk/games/super-spy, but do check out our trailer below, or directly here: www.beakus.com/iwm
National Maritime Museum ‘Nelson, Navy, Nation’
We also provided two new pieces for the NMM’s newest permanent gallery, ‘Nelson, Navy, Nation’. One is a giant floor-to-ceiling projection that uses motion graphics to tell the story of how the British public interacted with the Navy, and the other is a huge touch-screen interactive that lets you explore two of Nelson’s key sea battles. Rendered in 3D the animation lets you fly around the ships as their formations change and Nelson’s key decisions are made. It became a big draw for Naval dignitaries gathered at the exhibition launch night, and for the historian Peter Snow who thought it was “wonderful!”.
