Skwigly Banner – September 2013: Tanya J Scott
Graduating from the University of the West of England in 2010, Tanya J Scott started work in the industry at Aardman Animations on the Tate Movie Project working as a designer.
From there, she moved to Wonky Films where she designed backgrounds for the BBC’s Ministry of Curious Stuff and winning funding to make her own film, Why we Left the Earth, which she produced and directed. After a little job designing backgrounds at Rumpus she moved to London to work on Karrot Animation‘s preschool series Sarah & Duck.
Tanya enjoys investigating new styles and techniques, as a result her work can vary quite a lot but a majority of her work is fun, humorous and character based. She has a keen interest in the natural world, especially animals which are often her main subjects (she must have a keen interest in underwear too as that usually makes an appearance!). While she specialises in design, Tanya also enjoys animating and directing as well as collaborating with others on new projects.
Since finishing work on Sarah & Duck in July 2013, she has started to focus on her own series ideas and is hoping to get back to in-house studio work very soon.
