Paul Hill studied animation at University of Wales College, Newport and graduated in 1998. That’s last century.
He has worked at A Productions for a whole 14 years, most of which has been spent supplying nourishing television content to the children of the world. He does compositing, animating, designing, directing and some IT support.
For several years Paul designed and directed the trailers for Encounters Short Film Festival in Bristol and was responsible for the creation of the original Encounters “Cineman” mascot (you can hear our interview with Paul as part of our 2012 Encounters Podcast Special).
He has also dabbled with poster design for Ink-dot and in the past year has made two short flms:

Influenced by the 8-bit games of yesteryear, the story of a guy looking for escapades but still shackled to the realities of domestic life.
Sun
The everyday story of the solar system’s hottest and most vindictive ball of hydrogen and helium. The film won the Random Acts Special Mention at the Encounters Short Film Festival in Bristol. It is now being shown at festivals in France, Germany and Poland and is sure pop up in some other places too.
Paul has plans to make another film as soon as time permits. This film may or may not feature a submarine. He also wants to revisit Patrick to see what he’s getting up to. “Strangely, I have been working on creating a card game set in Patrick’s universe.” Says Paul, “I don’t really know why.”
