The BAA Awards & Your ‘Favourite British Animated Character’
Ladies and gentlemen, it is now less than four months until the British Animation Awards (BAA) roll back into town. Unfortunately, this means the deadline is nearly upon us, as of the 30th of November, all entries must be submitted (cue running back to darkened rooms and mass hysteria).
BAA is special in that in brings together the key players of the UK animation scene to celebrate the potential of emerging animators. On the 15th of March, 2012, money-can’t-buy artwork will once again be chased by competitors in every category, given that they have been created by some of the top animators worldwide (past artists have included Nick Park and Richard Williams).
Amongst the already popular categories, the BAA has introduced an online poll in order to discover the ‘Favourite Ever British Animated Character,’ a fine gesture considering the current frustrations surrounding the British animation scene. Whether it is Captain Pugwash or Bob the Builder, the choice is yours. The only limitation is they must have been created in the UK, for a TV series, film, advertising campaign or a one-off TV special. Nominate your favourite character, and send it to febac@britishanimationawards.com remember to include your reasons why. A shortlist allowing fans to vote will be announced closer to the event. Don’t miss the opportunity to give your favourite character the recognition it deserves!
