Another BAFTA win for Studio AKA

// News

The winners of this year’s BAFTA Awards have been announced, and having the good fortune of not being in a category against “The Artist”, the animation winners are Grant Orchard and Sue Goffe of Studio AKA for “A Morning Stroll” (best short) and Gore Verbinski’s “Rango” (best feature).  Both have been scooping up awards hither and thither and are nominated for this year’s Academy Awards in their respective categories.

Studio AKA’s previous BAFTA wins were in 2009 for Philip Hunt‘s adaptation of the Oliver Jeffers children’s book “Lost and Found” and last year for their BBC Winter Olympics TV Titles. Other BAFTA nominees up against “Stroll” were the always-awesome Robert Morgan with his short “Bobby Yeah” and Afarin Eghbal’s touching NFTS film “Abuelas”, while “Rango” beat out Aardman’s “Arther Christmas” and Steven Spielberg’s recent “Adventures of Tintin” adaptation.
