Annecy 2019 – Feature Films, Work in Progress & VR Highlights
The highlights of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market 2019 programme have just been announced! Previously, we published the Annecy 2019 Graduation, TV & Commissioned Films, Dreamworks’ latest productions, plus the Jury selection news.
Today we bring you the official selection for Feature Films in competition, Work in Progress sessions and XR@Annecy…
Feature Films’ Official Selection
There are 8 films in the official competition (listed below) and 8 films in the Contrechamp competition. There will be several screening events of each film, which will include European, French, an world exclusives:

Annecy 2019 will be full of eagerly awaited Work in Progress, Making of, Masterclasses, Conferences, and Studio Focus events. The Work in Progress projects being presented this year include feature films, TV projects and VR:

XR@Annecy
VR Works
Presented as part of the special programmes for the first time at Annecy in 2016, Virtual Reality enters into the competition status this year. VR Works are in the Official Selection and one of them will have the accolade of winning the Cristal Award for Best VR Work, chosen by a specialized jury.
VR Dome
Come to the heart of the Haras and discover a selection of virtual reality animated works. In this new broadcasting space, open to all ages and free, you can experience at least ten immersive adventures to play, discover and fantasize!
XR Conferences
This year, there are XR dedicated conferences to complete the existing Annecy Meetings sessions. A platform of discussion about the current and future challenges concerning XR. These sessions will provide a crosscutting approach where renowned industry professionals will share their work experiences and strategic points of view.
XR Work in Progress
Annecy’s Work in Progress gives attendees the opportunity to discover animated films, and will reveal for the first time the secrets of making two immersive works during production. Their artistic choices and challenges are discussed in these sessions.
