Animation Triumphs at Children’s BAFTAs
The 2014 Children’s BAFTA’s took place this year at the Roundhouse in London, celebrating the art of children’s television making in a glitzy ceremony. As a staple of the children’s television diet, animation came out on top with some fantastic shows taking home awards that evening. Karrot entertainment achieved a well deserved win for Sarah & Duck a show which has been waiting patiently for this kind of recognition for a long time. Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep took home a BAFTA ahead of what is shaping up to be a huge year for the character as he stars in his first feature in February as well as a Christmas special next December.
CITV’s Share a Story won its third BAFTA scoring a hat trick for the much loved series. Feature film wise, The LEGO Movie continued its awesome year with best feature film whilst Frozen was deemed the best in a kids vote. Disney triumphed again with a win for the Disney Animated app. Internationally, Adventure Time scooped an award in an animation centric category.
Smallfilms co-founder Peter Firmin was presented with a special award.
Below is a complete list of the winners. Congratulations folks!
