Animation Nights New York is going to Cannes
Animation Nights New York (ANNY) announces the first ever annual ANNY Cannes Program. Offered as an additional opportunity, we’ve invited 35 filmmakers from around the world to join us at the Cannes Film Festival. Participants in the ANNY Cannes program benefit from our unique partnership with the festival, which allowed us to hand select 20 animated short films for exhibition as part of the ANNY Cannes Program. Films will be available for viewing on the ANNY channel in the Short Film Corner, from May 14-19, and during a special screening in the Marché du Film on May 17 at 13:30 in Palais H.
ANNY Cannes participants will receive festival accreditation with on-site support from the ANNY team. ANNY will host several mixer events and networking opportunities with industry professionals via ANNY Exchange. In addition, ANNY will be the expert of the Animation Table during Cannes Short Film Corner Helping Hand Workshop.
The 35 filmmakers participating in the ANNY Cannes Program represent 20 countries across 5 continents, including world renowned animator Bill Plympton.
Animation Nights New York holds curated monthly animation screenings and networking events in New York City. The monthly events showcase animated short films and virtual reality animation experiences from all around the world. Project submission is free and event admission is free.
The monthly screenings culminate in ANNY Best of Fest, a two-day convention comprised of animation screenings, fine art installations, a virtual reality showcas, professional panels, and industry events.
ANNY Exchange connects talent to projects. Animators are connected to traditional projects and emerging platforms.
