Autour de Minuit launch new animation-themed YouTube channel ANIMATIC
Today sees the launch of French film production company Autour de Minuit‘s ANIMATIC, a new Youtube channel dedicated entirely to animation. The channel will be kicking off with roughly a hundred films to peruse, including classics such as François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy and Ludovic Houplain’s Logorama, David Coquard-Dassault’s Peripheria, Alberto Vázquez’s Decorado, Emma De Swaef and Marc Roels’s Oh Willy, Luis Nieto’s Carlitopolis, Patrick Jean’s Pixels and Frédéric Doazan’s Supervenus. On top of this there will be regular new additions uploaded to the channel, beginning today with the exclusive, never-before-available online release of the late great Rosto‘s animated special The Monster of Nix.
Among the upcoming releases – which include a mix of new and classic shorts that will go up every Wednesday and Saturday through to the end of the year – will be firm favourites of the contemporary animation shorts scene, such as Khris Cembe’s Soy Una Tumba and Alberto Vázquez’s Sangre de Unicornio, with occasional world premieres including Donato Sanson’s Il Gatto.

Autour de Minuit is a film production company created in 2001 by Nicolas Schmerkin to support projects with innovative forms and impertinent contents, giving pride of place to new technologies and sound creation. Over time, the editorial line opened up to other genres and audiences such as documentaries, music videos, fiction or animation for kids and families.
The production catalogue includes almost 80 shorts, including classics such as Obras, Flesh, Carlitopolis, Babioles, Peripheria, Decorado, Bavure and Logorama.
Autour de Minuit also produces projects for television, for instance the hybrid series for adults Babioles (Canal+), three TV specials A Town Called Panic and the kids series No-No. Lately, the company has finished the first season of Jean-Michel Super Caribou.
Autour de Minuit is currently developing new series projects, including Galaxy Camp (52×13’ for 8+), The Wind Ups (26×3’ for teenagers and adults) and Two Little Birds (52×3’ for 4-6 year olds).
Autour de Minuit is also increasingly working on features: the company, which was associate producer of the first Spanish animated feature film for adults Psiconautas directed by Alberto Vazquez (Goya 2017 for Best Animated Feature), is currently working on the production of Alberto’s next feature film, Unicorn Wars. The company is also developing two other feature projects: The Midnight King (an animated musical with an original soundtrack by Patrick Watson) and Stupor Mundi (adapted from Néjib’s graphic novel, published by Gallimard).
Since 2004, Autour de Minuit also deals with world distribution of animation and digital works, with a catalogue of almost 400 films.
