A+C Recreate 2015 Super Bowl commercials in Lego!
UK-based A+C Studios has released Brick Bowl, recreating the best of the Super Bowl 2015 commercials as a stop motion animated film, using thousands of Lego bricks in less than 36 hours.
With a background in stop motion including the recent Harrods’ 2014 Christmas commercial , this project was uniquely challenging given the available preparation time (only being able to begin work after the commercials had been broadcast), working across multiple time zones and sourcing all the required Lego pieces. In spite of this the project – which wound up recreating spots for T-Mobile, Snickers, Budweiser, Toyota and the Jurassic World trailer – was successfully finished in 36 hours.
Stop motion productions can take anywhere between 4 months to 4 years to make – turning this animation around in 36 hours and working with Lego to recreate the most prestigious ad slot in history into a new story has been a huge accomplishment. It’s been an adrenaline-filled couple of days and we hope everyone who watches Brick Bowl has as much fun as we all had making it.
