Aardman confirm plans for ‘Chicken Run’ sequel
Official news that Aardman‘s long-awaited sequel to their smash-hit feature film Chicken Run is going ahead has been confirmed. In an exclusive published on The Hollwood Reporter claiming that details are “scarce” and dates are unconfirmed, it is believed that production will begin after Aardman’s current production Shaun the Sheep 2: Farmageddon wraps. The article’s claims were subsequently affirmed by social media posts from Aardman and StudioCanal, who will again partner up on the film following the recent releases Early Man and the Shaun the Sheep feature films.

Also attached are financiers Pathé, director Sam Fell (Flushed Away/ParaNorman) and producer Paul Kewley (Shaun the Sheep Movie) with the original film’s writing team Karey Kirkpatrick and John o’Farrell set to return and Aardman co-founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton executive producing.
Directed by Nick Park and Peter Lord, the original Chicken Run was released nearly 18 years ago and, as Aardman’s first feature film endeavour, was a huge critical and commercial success that still boasts the title of the most successful stop-motion feature of all time, grossing $225 million worldwide.
